Advantech and The University of Cincinnati join to create Advantech e-Manufacturing Lab
The Advantech Corporation and The University of Cincinnati have joined to create an advanced e-Manufacturing lab that will provide hands-on leaning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students as well as manufacturing professionals. The eManufacturing lab will also serve as a platform for conducting next generation research in manufacturing processes and systems.
The lab consists of four workstations each composed of:
- an input/output data acquisition module - USB-4711 - to connect the workstation to the real-world process or mechanism.
- an embedded automation controller - UNO-2171 - to analyze the incoming data and generate appropriate process control outputs.
- a flat panel monitor - FPM 2150 - for information display.
The lab also has a Touch Panel Computer - TCP-1570 - to combine the lab results and post them to the world wide web.
