Research

Engineering and bio-medical problems involving acoustics and vibrations, examples include human exposure to noise and vibration, gas pulsations, vibration of shells and plates, modeling and measurement of damping in dynamic systems, machine system design such as refrigeration compressors.

Services

Dr. Kim currently serves as the Head of the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and the director of Occupational Safety and Health Engineering Program (OSHE) of the UC-NIOSH ERC.
