Research
Engineering problems involving acoustics and vibrations, examples include human exposure to noise and vibration, gas pulsations, vibration of shells and plates, modeling and measurement of damping in dynamic systems, rotordynamics, machine system design such as refrigeration compressors.

Dr. Kim currently serves as the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the director of Occupational Safety and Health Engineering Program (OSHE) of the UC-NIOSH ERC.
