Professor Teik C. Lim has received the Thomas French Achievement Award in recognition of his commitment to engineering education, and his extensive research accomplishments in the area of Vibro-acoustics and Sound Quality. This award is given by Professor Lim’s alma mater, the Ohio State University (OSU) and
is presented annually to an alumnus of the OSU Mechanical Engineering Department who has distinguished himself or herself as an educator.
 
The Thomas French Achievement Award is named in honor of Professor Thomas French, an 1895 graduate of the Ohio State University, who introduced new teaching methods and authored a popular textbook while serving as a professor of engineering drawing.
