Subhashish Dasgupta selected a finalist in ASME poster competition

Subhashish Dasgupta, a Ph.D. candidate in Dr. Rupak K. Banerjee’s laboratory of Fluid Heat and Mass Transfer in Biological Systems and MEMS Devices (FHM Bio-MEMS) in the Mechanical Engineering department of UC has been selected a finalist with an honorable mention in the Ph.D. student’s poster competition at the 2009 ASME Summer Bioengineering Conference, Squaw Creek Resort, CA.  His paper is entitled “Determination of Lesion Size as Function of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Sonication Time Using MRI Monitored HIFU Ablations.”

The ASME Summer Bioengineering conference is held every year and has been a forum for interactions and exchange of ideas among new and experienced members of the bioengineering community.  We congratulate Mr. Dasgupta, whose achievement reflects the quality of the exemplary research being conducted at the FHM Bio-MEMS research group at UC
