Radioisotopes
The following NIST traceable radionuclides are typically available: 241Am, 152Eu, 137Cs, 60Co, 210Pb, 237Np, 238Pu, 235U (3%, 10%, 95%), natural uranium, and thorium. More than one radionuclide can be added to phantoms. However, depending upon the nuclide, an extra charge of $500 may be necessary for the additional radionuclide solution.

Quality Assurance & Calibration Phantoms
Quality assurance phantom sets contain an undisclosed quantity of standard radioactive material. The user requests the type of radioisotope and designates a range for activity quantity. Frequently, the amount of activity requested is very low. The actual amount of activity contained in the phantom will not be disclosed until measurement results are reported.

Calibration phantoms usually contain larger quantities of activity than quality assurance phantoms and are especially suited for efficiency and energy measurements. The quantity of activity (±1 SD) added to each phantom is reported in the quality assurance documentation provided with each phantom.

Prices are FOB Cincinnati. We use UPS or Federal Express for most domestic shipments. The cost for international shipment of a radioactive material is determined at the time of shipment and requires use of a broker to comply with security regulations. The estimated cost of an international shipment is approximately $700.00.

Technical Information
The formulations used at UC to fabricate phantoms explicitly duplicate the original formulations used to fabricate the original Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory thoracic phantom.
