PACE 2010-2011 : Sustainable Urban Transport Vehicle- Design Phase

Sustainable Urban Transport (SUT) project to develop personal transport vehicles which run on sustainable and renewable energy sources.

The University of Cincinnati actively participated in the Sustainable Urban Transport (SUT)- Design Phase PACE project and collaborated with different engineering and design schools across the world. A total of 33 UC engineering students worked on 4 projects for creating and conceptualizing the engineering design of Sustainable Urban Vehicles. Out of these 4 projects, UC actively collaborated with two universities, McMaster University, Canada and University of Pennsylvania, USA. All the four UC teams were responsible for designing various sub-assemblies of the car which includes Chassis and Frames, Suspension, Tires and Wheels, Brakes sub-assemblies etc. Students were exposed to different design and structural analysis softwares such as NX, Ansys, FactoryCAD / FactoryFlow. The whole SUT project was highly successful and was very well acclaimed at the PACE Annual Forum at Vancouver, Canada. A team of students from Honda motorcycle PACE project represented the UC team at the PACE Annual Forum at Vancouver, Canada. The UC engineering team was awarded the 3rd prize in the Manufacturing Engineering contest at the PACE Forum.
