PACE 2008-09 :Emerging Market Vehicle (EMV) Global Project
A Project to designing a cost-effective, fuel-efficient, compact car.
University of Cincinnati participated in the Engineering phase of the Emerging Market Vehicle (EMV) Global Project. The vehicle’s design parameters were aimed at providing a cost-effective, fuel-efficient, compact car that can seat two adults and two adolescents. The vehicle’s design efforts were divided by sub-system, and the University of Cincinnati student group focused their efforts on the vehicle’s suspension. This vehicle demanded a robust and simple suspension solution, and the efforts of the UC team led to utilizing McPherson Struts on the front and Watt’s Linkage rear axle suspension.
